The RBIDZ cements a flagship through CSI donation

Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ) on the 6th June handed over material to commence the building of a multi-purpose centre in Mandlanzini.

The centre which is an initiative by the Beautiful Pillars Foundation a non-profit organization, is set to provide skills training to the youth of Mandlanzini and uMhlathuze at large.

‘We had skills development programmes that we were running in the community however we had no facility to be able to equip the youth the right way,' founder of Beautiful Pillars Foundation Nonhlanhla Ngonyama said.

Ngonyama said through this centre, they want to better the lives of young people in the community by giving them the necessary skills to sustain themselves.

'What we have seen is that a lot of the youth is unemployed and many of them have children,' she said. 'So the centre will have a child care facility which will allow the young parents to take part in the skills development programmes while their children are being taken care of,’ she said.

RBIDZ had initially donated 4000 bricks for the building of the centre in September 2016, however due to the unavailability of funds; the project was put on hold.

‘In the endeavour to further assist the organization optimally and to ensure that the objective of building a Youth Training Centre commences, the CSI Committee took a decision to further assist with the foundation building material with the intent to contribute towards a flagship that will positively change lives and sustain the community in the years to come,’ RBIDZ CSI Representative Zodwa Zikalala said.

Zikalala said the 'objective to support the Beautiful Pillars Foundation, is to make a positive contribution towards the up skilling and empowerment of youth and women while promoting entrepreneurship, employment opportunities and self-reliance among the local youth and women.' She further made a call to local businesses to support this initiative that is showing great potential of changing lives for better.
