Recently, the MEC for Economic Development Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Sihle Zikalala announced the importance of ensuring inclusive economic growth. He singled out the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone as one of the entities that government is using to drive radical economic development.
To this end - the RBIDZ, King Cetshwayo District Municipality and Umhlathuze Municipality have partnered to host the Small, Micro and Medium Enterprise Engagement Seminar (SMME Seminar) on the 13 February 2019.
Last year during the Entrepreneurship Summit Zikalala announced that R57 million had been set aside to support co-operatives and small business enterprises. This is specially aimed at fast-tracking the entry of these small players into the mainstream economy through the Radical Agrarian Socio-Economic Transformation programme.
For its part, RBIDZ, Acting CEO, Ms. Simangele Ngcobo has extended an invitation to Co-Operatives and SMMEs in King Cetshwayo District Municipality to be part of this seminar.
During this seminar, investors soon to operate from the Zone and those operating within Richards Bay will unveil opportunities tailor-made for the small players. Members of the media are invited to attend the event scheduled as follows:
